PDF Peace Talk

There was a great turnout at the Peace Development Fund's (PDF) most recent Peace Talk, hosted by Jennifer Ladd, at Rocky Hill Cohousing. In addition to the Bailout Project, the event also featured Voices from Inside, a group that has been helping women who are currently or formerly incarcerated through creative writing workshops for over two decades. Both Voices from Inside and the Bailout Project are grantees of the the Pioneer Valley Community Advised Fund (PVCAF), PDF’s local grant-making program.

Bailout Project Volunteer Danielle gave an overview of bail system in MA and described how, despite
Brangan v. Commonwealth, many people remain in pretrial detention because they cannot afford bail.

Of the Bailout Project’s work, Danielle said, “Our group is committed to keeping people in the community. That’s our primary objective.”

Brief excerpts from the presentations are available to view on
PDF’s YouTube page.
