Join us: Monthly Court Watch

Since November 2024, we’ve been inviting folks to join us for a monthly court watch at the local district courts. Court watch usually happens on the third Monday of the month, but we also call for court watches to happen with less advance notice in response to requests and needs from the community. Immediately before each court watch, we provide participants with a brief orientation so that they know what to expect in court.

Court watch helps us build our knowledge about how the legal system operates, and it increases our comfort in legal environments, so that we can be strong advocates and movement members. Court watch also makes legal actors feel observed, which can be a powerful movement tool: it is much harder to violate a person’s human rights when someone else is watching. Lastly but very importantly, court watch is a way to visibly show up and support our loved ones and comrades who are being subjected to legal processes and let them know they are not alone.

Upcoming court watch dates can be found on
Instagram and our events page.
